The author mentions the great importance of building the unique European educational environment considering 2 aspects: those related to higher education and those concerning European politics. The author proposes that a new necessary principle should be added to the Bologna Process: the elaboration and implementation of a unique informational environment in all the countries members of the Process. There are mentioned several aspects of this principle: cooperation and coordination of the efforts in order to facilitate and enlarge the access to information; elaboration and implementation of several strategic plans and actions concerning the development of information literacy; librarians’ mobility; ensuring the compatibility between organizational and functional structures and the one of functional principles between our university libraries and those from better economically developed countries (participants to the Bologna Process).
