The rooting of Lonicera caerulea L. seedlings in vitro was performed on nutrient media MS 100%, MS 50% as well as the effects of minerals and various concentrations of auxins. The low concentrations of mineral nutrients in the modified MS environment produced greater root elongation, not affecting the number of roots. The percentage of root development was about 90% in auxin IBA supplemented environment of 0.2 mg/l and decreased by 30% in auxin-free medium. The frequency of rooting and the number of roots of honeysuckle shoots increased to 100%, and developed 10 roots per microplantula, in the presence of auxin IBA. Increased IBA auxin levels suppressed stem elongation, primary roots, and induced callus formation at the base of shoots and the number of roots remained intact. The differences between the development of the root system were related to the equimolar concentrations of auxins: indole-3-butyric acid, indole-3-acetic acid and α-naphthalenacetic acid. |
