Prevention of nutritional anemia in piglets

Rezumat

The aim of the investigation was to evaluate the efficacy of methods of prevention of alimentary anemia in piglets using iron-containing preparations. It was found out that by the weaning period the level of hemoglobin in piglets fed with the iron preparations Ferran® and Ursoferran®-200 was 1,5 and 1,6 times higher than in the control animals, respectively; the number of erythrocytes - 1,5 times higher; the serum iron content - 2,4 and 2,5 times higher; the average content of hemoglobin in one erythrocyte - 1,14 and 1,3 times higher.
