Rezumat

The author examines the issue of the last war of Tsarist Russia in the concerns of the Russian Association of World War I Historians (1990-2000) The author notes that, under the broader interest of the public opinion and professional historians related to the consequences of the FirstWorld War and the creation of a new system of international relations at the Paris Peace Conference of 1919-1920, the opinion about the unitary character of the historical period between 1914 and 1945 strongly consolidated in Russian historiography of 1990-2000 years, being defined as the second Thirty years war, accompanied by local conflicts and permanent revolutionary disorders on the way of industrial modernization. However, considering the status of Russian historiography after 1990 in a critical manner, most of the experts in the field believe that, despite some indisputable achievements, the history, the progress and the consequences of World War stand at the periphery of citizens’ historical memory in contemporary Russia, so, the duty of the Association of First World War Historians and profile academic institutions is to continue the work in order to reconstruct the integral, fair, polyphonic and polychrome picture of the event of an epochal significance, which marked the destiny of the contemporary whole world.
