In 1877 the city of Chișinău was in the world's attention. From the capital of Bessarabia, Emperor Alexander II declared war on the Ottoman Empire. In the city of Chișinău there was also the Headquarters of the Grand Duke Constantine. Many correspondents of foreign publications arrived in Bessarabia. We will refer to the correspondents’ reports of „Journal de Genève” and Daily News. They will present the things seen in Bessarabia. They described the city of Chișinău, presented the Russian army staff, the living conditions. |
