ANESTIADI NICOLAE was born in 1916 in Saratenii Vechi, Orhei. He graduated from high school "Vasile Lupu" and was marked with the mention of "Magna cum laude",as well as the Faculty of Medicine of Iaæi and Alma - Ata. During 19471949 he followed clinical internship; 1956 – 1959 –assistant; 1959 – associate; 1960 – chief of the department; 1966 – university proffesor; In 1954 he did PhD in the Medical field, in 1965 – habilitated doctor in Medical field. He trained 14 doctors and 5 habilitated doctors in the Medical field. He has published over 100 papers, four monographs and three collections of surgery and medicine issues in practice.He was one of the first who studied pathophysiology of surgical disorders. He put the basis of anesthesiology and resuscitation, thoracic surgery, he performed the first open heart surgery in Bessarabia. Together with another martyr of the nation - Nicolae Testemitanu, he started the National Revival Movement in Moldova. He created Anestiadi School, which is further promoted by his disciples. At only 52 years old ... after a day of work in the operating room, after a heart attack he died in the prime of life, leaving many unresolved ideas and hopes unfulfilled. God rest his soul!GHEORGHE GHIDIRIM, Academician of Academy of Science in RM, was born on April 22, 1939 in the village of Palanca, Cetatea Alba district. After graduating from the Medical College of Bender, he worked as medical assistant. Then he has passed SMUM entrance exams in Moldova. After graduation the faculty with "honors" he worked in the Department of Topographyc Surgery of SMUM, then as the Head of Department for Subordination , head of General Surgery Department of and from 1992 - head of Surgery Department No.1 "Nicolae Anestiadi". His scientific researches are focused on pancreas pathology, biliary tract, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, abdominal trauma. There were sustained 11 theses of Habilitated doctor, 18 PhD, as well as he prepared 25 secondary clinics, over 170 residents surgeons. He has published over 600 scientific papers, five monographs, two textbooks. He served in the position of Minister of Health, People's Deputy of the USSR. At his jubilee of 75 years, celebrated this year, Academician Gh.Ghidirim is in full force, with many plans to achieve. We as his disciples, wish him health and new successes in the service of the people and their health!
