Rezumat

This project aims to introduce a new way of interacting with a video camera. The user will wear a glove that represents the device with which he will control the focus ring of the lens, using the second device, a motor, connected to the focus ring and the communication between the devices is wireless. When the user moves his hand to the right / left, the motor will operate the focus ring. There is also a second method of control using a touchpad attached to the glove. In this variant, the user places his thumb on the touchpad and makes a left-to-right movement to control the motor. The motivation to work on this project came from my passion for photography and videography. I wanted to achieve something different, this device allows the use of human gestures for an existing camera. Nowadays, technology is evolving extraordinarily fast and we are always looking for solutions that will improve us and make our lives as easy as possible. One of these solutions is the use of gesture commands, from browsing the phone to controlling a TV, gestures are becoming more and more present in everyday use with electronic devices or even the environment. There are several models and technologies of focusing systems, but they all use the same principle: a potentiometer that controls the rotation of a motor. The best known and used in the film industry are provided by DJI. There are such systems and motorized but also that can be operated by the cameraman. Also, the most professional are wireless that require an operator, usually a cameraman's assistant. The advantage of wireless systems is the remote use, which allows you to control the focus of the camera both on the ground and in the air, for example for a video camera mounted on a drone.
