The insignificant weight of the Republic of Moldova within the global and regional geopolitical architecture and the reduced level of the capacity to ensure the national security lead to the need to enhance the geopolitical dimension when tackling and promoting the new paradigm for ensuring the national security. The regional geopolitical conjuncture of the Republic of Moldova and its geopolitical status of a buffer-state with a frozen conflict and foreign military troops on its territory, which put constraints on the achievement of the internal policy and generate regional insecurity, provide the Republic of Moldova the quality of being a geopolitical object and lead to a geopolitical impact on the national security. Grasping the opportunity to readjust national security by enhancing the geopolitical dimension will contribute to the transformation of the status of the Republic of Moldova from a geopolitical object into a geopolitical subject that seems to be imperative for the achievement of the national interest at a time when the great powers consider the Republic of Moldova to be an element of a geostrategic game.
