Rezumat

Sate assessment of the representative ecosystems from Briceni and Edinet districts in order to provide scientific support for their protection and extension of protected areas includes studies of 20 objects. Field assessment and laboratory analysis show that for the majority of the objects the state of woodland phytocenoses, water and soil resources, biological diversity and air quality are satisfactory. There have not been registered indices of soil degradation (dehumification, decalciumification, alcalinization, etc). The value of air pollution in North and North-West of the country with SO2, NOx, CO2 and NH3, dust and heavy metals indicated 0,2-0,5 of MAC and pollution was of transboundary origin. N-NO3 sediments of 10-15 kg/ha and N-NH4 of 5-10 kg/ha cause acidification and eutrophication of ecosystems. Water quality in the Lipcani- Sculeni r. Prut portion is influenced by left tributaries (9 studies by NIECO). The water quality indices of small rivers indicate a littlie autoepuration capacity. Extension of wet area enhanced the degradation of pollutants. In this regard we propose to extend the protected hidrologigal areas: r.Draghiste – v.Trebesauti. Significant amount of nitrates was found in the rivers Ciuhur (6,3 -13,5 mg/dm3), Larga (8,9 – 13,5 mg/dm3), Sarata (18,7 mg/dm3), Vilia (4,5 -7,5 mg/dm3), Calanjir (9,3 mg/dm3) and pollution was caused by manure, household waste, etc. The hardness and mineralization of water in the rivers Draghiste, Vilia (Tetcani), Larga (Sireut) and Racovat (Hadarauti) exceed the indices of r. Prut by 1,6 times and in rivers Ciuhur, Lopatinca and Zelionaia by 2,0-3,3 times. Springs and wells from investigated area are not polluted with nitrates. Spring Volodeni is of great interest as the water corresponds to fresh water standards and is of Na-Mg-Ca; HCO3 –SO4 type. Radiological assessment indicates that the MAC was not exceeded, registered value - 12-20 μR/h. On the basis of the preventive investigations the following areas: forest from river meadow meander – Pererita; r. Draghiste sector (v. Trebisauti); sprig Volodeni can be introduced in the list of state protected areas. The analysis of results is being carried.
