The lack of consensus on the important research topics and their theoretization, deepened
by the challenges toward the centric-state analyses, made the majority of analysts to declare that
the second half of the 70’s optimistic expectations are illusory and the mid 80’s international
relations are subjugated to chaos. K.Holsti thinks that the incorporation of new actors and
investigation topics made the discipline become a theoretical conclusion “this idea being
subsequently précised and developed by such analysts as: Y. Lapid, who stresses that there is no
need in discovering a scientifically universal method or “achieving an objectively valid truth on
world politics”; Y. Ferguson and R.Mansbach are more categorical, addressing the social
sciences scientists to recognize that “in their discipline, the truth will remain an unknown (factor)
forever”
