The meanings expressed by euphemisms are rather unstable and are determined by the context; therefore, the examples under analysis have been taken from various types of discourses. The author, who is familiar with all the stylistic variants of a word, resorts to different euphemisms trying to replace vulgar and obscene words. Thus, one of the main functions of a modern speaker is to create adequate euphemisms that are used to substitute a bad meaning, avoid unpleasant situations or disguise the reality. We are guided by euphemisms, because we want „to sanitizeŗ our language by all means. |

Cuvinte-cheie euphemism, taboo, death, devil, language prohibition, obscene language |
