The assesement of the Romanian historical research in Hungary, two decades after the fall of the communist regime, is an entirely justifi cable approach, especially since, as we have seen, its route has been quite sinuous in the period between the late 19th century and early 20th century. The present research introduces us to some very intersesting conclusions on the history of the Romanians in Hungary, and even offers a series of projections on its future, a future that several present leaders of the community do not see in very bright colours
