Language is the symbolic and conceptually important tool, and plays a compensatory role in the vision disability. Language disorders are a stressful factor at any age, especially in association with visual impairment. The pace of language development is slower, the expressiveness of communication and the understanding of the semantic or contextual nuances of language are affected due to insufficiently perceived and activated mimic-gesticulation. Logopedic work with this category of children is very specific and complex, differentiated and multilateral. A good and fair interrelation between a speech therapist, a psychologist and a medical worker allows the child to assimilate and perceive wider information about the environment. Because of this interrelation, the child's language becomes more diverse and richer. |
