The modern libraries of today, also called digital, through the essential mission of preserving, valorizing and digitizing the collections, manifest their role of valorizing the national cultural heritage, recently confirmed in the new Law on libraries, which entered into force in 2018. Each library has the responsibility to set up relevant collections, in order to respond to current trends of information and knowledge of the society. The “Tudor Arghezi” Library of Arts has in its objective important tasks of renewing its collections, of making the information it possesses accessible to the general public and of transforming the collections into a common good for the society. Having accumulated a rich cultural heritage over time, the current Library of Arts, in its capacity as a specialized center for the study of the arts, aims to transmit this treasure to future generations.
