In the article we aim to analyze the impact of migration on the economic security of the Republic of Moldova. Migration has become an indispensable factor for the development of the national economy, as well as a tool for poverty reduction. According to estimates, about a third of the population is abroad, which transferred about 1.8 billion US dollars in the country in 2019, which represents 16% of GDP. Respectively, the number of migrants in the total population, the volume of remittances and their share in GDP, make these economic variables become extremely important indicators in the economic policies of the Republic of Moldova. Taking into account the scale and impact of migration processes, migration policy must be correlated with the program of the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Moldova. Migration policy measures need to be developed in the context of the employment strategy, with appropriate interactions with other strategies - educational, trade and investment. |
