Rezumat

In a country where the need for development is obvious to the naked eye or justified by numbers, many people choose to leave the country in the hope of a better life elsewhere. The analysis of economic development factors in the Republic of Moldova reveals a very alarming conclusion – in the absence of a sustained effort to change the development paradigm, the growth potential for the next 10 years is limited to no more than 4.5-5% per year, because the level of development of the regions of the Republic of Moldova, although growing, is still far from the least developed countries of the European Union. Currently in our country, the needs are very high. The development differences are large both between rural and urban areas, as well as between Chisinau and all other cities. Thus, it is not possible to discuss a repositioning of regional development policy by completely abandoning the idea of reducing these disparities, but there is still a great need to promote the acceleration of the development process where it is possible and there is potential.
