Rezumat

The communism of the last years of the USSR was dissolved in the hagiography of ad hoc heroic „autobiographies” with „tank stops” and fights with the militiamen, which culminated with the Marea Adunare Nationala on August 27, 1989, when the Declaration of Sovereignty of the RSSM was proclaimed. The last „event” - the show is commented after almost two decades by Constantin Cheianu in his book Sex & Perestroika, published in 2008, which has a somewhat autobiographical subject line, in which sex and not heroism prevail, and a purely essayistic, pamphletical aspect, in which removes all the masks and demolishes all the post-totalitarian myths regarding the anticommunism and the pro-Romanism of the Bessarabian intellectuals. Unlike Constantin Cheianu, whose retrospective gaze has been unfolding for almost two decades, a time of endless "prestroika", Nicolae Esinencu stops in „Vin Chinezii” only at a moment in our recent history – 1987-1988. Writing is a kind of mixture of fictional autobiography, with real characters whose name has been slightly changed, and parable. Mircea V. Ciobanu writes that Vin chinezii „is a panorama of society, but an ever-changing panorama, with kaleidoscope rotations and intermittent stops.”
