Rezumat

Analysis of the psychophysiological characteristics was made in patients suffering from vegetative paroxysms of the psychogenous nature. The patients were distributed into 2 groups: group 1 included patients (n = 35) with a well-defined hyperventilation syndrome (HVS) in the structure of vegetative disorders, group II was made up of patients (n = 23) with the same vegetative disorders without the HVS. 20 healthy subjects served as control. The clinical and psychological assays and analysis of the vegetative characteristics including respiration revealed common mechanisms in both the groups. Besides, the patients with and without HVS manifested appreciable differences in the functioning of the cerebral systems that control the respiratory pattern.
