Rezumat

The compound [Fe(bpy)3][Cr2(μ-OH)( μ-CH3COO)(nta)2]·9H2O (1), where bpy = 2,2′bipyridine, nta = nitrilotriacetate ion, was prepared by the interaction of FeSO4 and 2,2′-bpy solution (molar ratio 1:3) with the complex compound BaCr2(OH)(CH3COO)(nta)2·5H2O. Synthesis was carried out in inert nitrogen atmosphere. IR spectrum of 1 consists of 4 intensive bands, 1623 and 1602 cm-1 related to νas(COOˉ) and 1371 and 1313 cm-1 referring to νs(COOˉ). Differences between asymmetric and symmetric frequencies values are equal to 252, 310, 231 and 289 cm-1. These data confirm the existence of both mono- and bidentate-coordinated carboxylate groups. According to the X-ray diffraction investigations, 1 belongs to the monoclinic crystal system with the following unit cell parameters: a =15.9981 Å, b = 13.716 Å, c = 23.4683 Å, β = 98.77º, and space group P21/c. Crystal 1 consists of [Fe(bpy)3]2+ cation, [Cr2(OH)(CH3COO)(nta)2]2ˉ dimeric anion and water molecules in 1:1:9 ratio. The structure of asymmetric part of the unit cell is represented in figure 1. The iron atom has the coordination number 6, and the coordination places are occupied by nitrogen donor atoms of those three molecules of 2,2′-bipyridyl. Dimeric anion [Cr2 (OH) (CH3COO) (nta) 2]2ˉ is formed by two Cr(III) octahedral polyhedra, bridged by OHˉ and CH3COOˉ groups. The interaction between constituent parts of crystal entities occurs via the hydrogen bonds between water molecules and oxygen atoms of the carboxylate groups from nta ligands, thereby leading to the formation of 3D network.figure
