Resilience means to be able to come around after some life evolutions that, in the beginning, might appear overwhelming. When people having a good resilience pass through some events changing their lives, they manage to control their affective processes in a healthy way. They are models for the well known saying of Wihlem Nietzsche: „ What does not kill me, makes me stronger”. Thus, people having a good resilience face the difficulties better then the others. People with a high level of resilience are flexible, being able to adapt quickly to circumstances and to prosper into an environment in a continuous change. Researches regarding the strength to face events, optimism, stubbornness, resistance to stress, emotional intelligence and personality features specific to survivors have identified many attributes of resilience. Resilience is more important than ever nowadays, given that the difficult and chaotic period we live in will not be over soon. To provide a comfortable life, one must proof a better developed resilience than people from the past. |
