The process of demographic transition has an influence on the entire population of the country, but in the manifestation of processes related to the demographic transition differences may arise from one region to another. Much more surprising is the fact that in a similar cultural territory, but with a different level of urbanization and economic development, the process of demographic transition can start in some regions earlier than in others. The analysis of the dynamics of the natural movement of the population by administrative-territorial units of the Republic of Moldova reveals the existence of territorial disparities of some indicators, such as: birth-rate, death-rate and natural increase. However, once the demographic transition is completed, these indicators are no longer as pronounced as in the different phases of the demographic transition. |
