After more than twenty years of media liberalization, the establishing a balance in reflecting the political realities in the Republic of Moldova, but also those from abroad, remains a desideratum. The separation of society into two camps: pro East and pro West is fed by radio products also, but to a smaller degree, considering the television’ effects on this subject, more significantly in this sense are radio stations engagements in promoting certain political parties. This engagement is determined by sympathies and relations of various radio patrons with different political actors. Pluralism of ideas and unbiased presentation of information and opinions represent a fundamental condition for the existence and functioning of a state democracy. The diversity of radio stations and the opinions presentation by radio message contents contribute to critical and analytical citizen’s thinking. In a democracy, the consumer of media products himself decides what information he needs. Therefore radio stations must show a fair and balanced behavior in relation to all political forces, whether they are in the government or in opposition. This fact would meet the information needs of listeners and would help on devoting the public, on its orientation to certain democratic values.
