Rezumat

The following article analyzes the development of Moldovan migrants’ business in Italy. The evolution of business of Moldovan migrants in the accepting country is demonstrated, and the characteristic is given; the strong and weak sides of business development are also shown. Moldovan business in Italy begins to appear since the second half of the 1990’s. For the most part, these are small enterprises. Usually, these are businesses in the service and construction sectors. Based on in-depth individual interviews with representatives of Moldovan business in Italy, with experts and representatives of Moldovan and Italian state structures, the success components of Moldovan businessmen are analyzed. Among the component of successful business in this domain, can be listed: the desire to start an enterprise, possession of work experience in the field, possession of professional training, entry into a consortium, the use of a brand, maintenance of contacts and orientation not only towards the internal market, a strict compliance with the tax rules, et al. Attention is given to the role the business plays in the development of the country of origin
