The main problems of farms` operation were systematized in the article. Long-term disparity of prices for industrial and agricultural products occupies a prominent position among the most common problems of farmers. It was proved that farms play the role of a guarantor of social stability in rural areas by creating jobs, turning a profit for farmers. It was found that the high depreciation of technical facilities of farms and insufficient level of upgrading require an integrated approach to investment and innovative modernization of technical resources through improving financial and credit relations, development of agricultural cooperatives and agribusiness and enhancement of the efficiency of public regulation. The necessary measures were proposed for state support of farms in Ukraine, providing a combination of sources of state and local budgets.
