If I rely on my experience as a translator, I can safely say that good literary translation is based not only on knowledge translation theory, because a good translator as well as a poet, does not come from school banks. Theory helps only in a general sense of translattion, specific challenges can be resolved only through individual efforts. If it were not so, Google online translation for example, after improvements, would be able to perform literary translation. Either it will never happen, I firmly believe it. |
