The subject of current case study is the phreatic groundwater regime. For this survey 20 representative wells were selected from the national monitoring network. The methodology of research included a choice of representative wells and the graphic analysis of groundwater level variations of the phreatic aquifer. On completeness and correctness of the presented time series, all chosen wells are subdivided into three types: 1) wells with continuous monitoring over water level during the long period of time; 2) wells with the interrupted and restored period of supervision, and 3) wells with the interrupted terms of supervision and technical mistakes in data recording. As a
result of the analysis it is possible to make a conclusion that only data from wells with the continuous period of supervision can be used for statistical processing, and, therefore, for the hydrogeological and geoecological conclusions and forecasts. One of the monitoring characteristics is the lack of wide interval data, their inaccuracy at making measurements because of equipment or well malfunction. For restoration of absent values 4 possible ways of this mistake elimination are considered. The method of linear interpolation appeared the most successful among them. For determination of the main characteristics of groundwater level changes the influence of climatic factors on them was estimated numerically. For this purpose 10 clusters consisting of regime wells and the meteorological stations next to them were defined. Total results allow making a conclusion that the aquifer of phreatic groundwater directly depends on atmospheric precipitation. Direct calculations of correlation coefficients between the amount of precipitation and groundwater
levels indicate values from (-0.3) to ( 0.07). Linear correlation between water level changes and atmospheric precipitation quantity considering the effect of evaporation shows that functional dependence is obvious (rmin = 0.339, rmax = 0.734).
