Rezumat

This study is carried out within the project (Proiectul „Între prezența și dispariția textilelor tradiționale bulgare din s. Stoianovca, Republica Moldova”) supported by the Endangered Material Knowledge Program (EMKP) implemented by the British Mu-seum, financed by the ARCADIA Fund and contributes to the safeguarding and promo-tion of weaving traditions in the Bulgarian villages of the Republic of Moldova. Bulgaria is known all over the world for its carpets, and the carpets from Chiprovtsi town since 2014, has been included in the List of Intangible Heritage protected by UNESCO. However, the Bulgarians in the Republic of Moldova risk losing their knowledge system and weaving techniques actively practiced in households as early as the 80s of the XXth century. At that time, the objects made by women (kilimi, cherghi, iorgani, peschiri) became part of his daughters' dowry, at the same time the girls were involved in the weaving process and the natural transmission of the system of knowledge dedicated to this domestic activity from one generation to another. The development of the migration process at the beginning of the XXI century and the introduction of new ways of arranging the interior of homes, gradually led to the exclusion from them of objects woven in domestic conditions. Now in the village of Sto-ianovca, woven objects are still in daily use, there are people alive who know how to do this, but no one already actively practices weaving and does not train these skills in the younger generation. The activities implemented in the project relate to the documentation of the system of knowledge and skills regarding the entire cycle - from obtaining and preparing the raw material – wool and the threads produced from it, their dyeing to the weaving of carpets (kilimi) in compliance with local traditional techniques. In our opinion, this activity of scientific documentation of the process of making textiles in domestic conditions among the Bulgarians in the Republic of Moldova con-tributes directly to the completion of the topic dedicated to the making of traditional tex-tiles in the communities of different ethnicities in the country. It helps to gain deeper knowledge of the tradition preserved in a different cultural environment by the former Bulgarian settlers. By preserving the original way of processing local resources preserved for more than 200 years.
