I observe that people often complain about loneliness, sometimes without any obvious justifi cation. At the same time, we often encounter its negative portrait, loneliness being seen only as a defi cit in the relationship with oth ers, something that causes suff ering. Yet, the loneliness may be experienced either negatively or positively. I believe that it will have to be recognized, one way or another, in what we call sense of life. The loneliness is experienced in a certain way while having a particular sense of life. Starting from these thoughts, I will try to draw attention to certain situations which, today, can be eloquent for how man relates to self and to the world of life.
