Rezumat

The European Union – United Nations relations have developed over time into a rich network, comprising the entire range of EU external relations. The most important areas in which the United Nations are active today are also priorities for the European Union, for example international peace and security, promotion and protection for human rights and the environment, reducing poverty, etc. The European Commission is committed to working closely with the United Nations across many policy areas, this co-operation taking the form both of European Commission financial support for the United Nations programmes and projects and of policy dialogue, as well as participation of the Commission in various United Nations forums.
