Rezumat

The specifics of the wedding bread with chicken at the Bessarabian Gagauz and Bulgarians are viewed in the article, ethno-cultural parallels between the traditions of these people are conducted. By Gagauz nation this bread is called kaniska, it occupies a special place at different stages of the wedding, it is used with different symbols and performs various ceremonial functions. Gagauz kaniska is functionally identical to the Bulgarian wedding tree. The basis for these complex in structure wedding attribute is the bread - a large loaf from the Gagauz, three loafs at Bulgarians. And at the Gagauz and the Bulgarians, they are designed for godfather, have similar semantics and uniform symbols are used in the same key moments of the wedding. Distinctive feature is the second component of a complex attribute: at Gagauz - boiled chicken with red pepper instead of the beak, at the Bulgarians - decorated with apple and sweets or fruit branch of an evergreen tree.
