The article analyses the Pushkin’s character phenomenon in the Russian culture. The author points that the character of national poet as the element of mental self-determination had its stable place in Russian mentality. This character pervades the creations of different generations of authors, develops the scope of its epoch and obtains the status of “ageless” character. Pushkin’s heritage is the embodiment of the Russian mental culture and thus has the great influence on all Russian culture.
