The Lower Dniester area has been and remains an interesting place for researchers from different fields and generations. In turn, the authors of the article tried to observe how the specifics of the material culture of the population in this area are found in the folklore and other elements of immaterial culture. The local legends discovered here explain the origin of the toponyms and help to restore the local history. The analysis of the attitude of the locals towards the traditional house and all the processes related to it allows the designation of the place of the dwelling in the life of the contemporary man. Addressing the issue of preserving the traditional costume and local cuisine allows drawing the vision of the inhabitants of the Lower Dniester Valley on these elements of local heritage.
