Learning is a continuous process, and through the learning process, people acquire or build new knowled get that is evaluated implicitly or explicitly. Research in the field of education as an important field has emerged as a way of epistemological investigation of students’ intellectual development. Research into personal epistemology has been expanded into three broad categories: developmental perspective, personal epistemology, and alternative concepts of personal epistemology. The purpose of reviewing the three categories is to have a deep understanding of the construct of personal epistemology, how it was investigated, and how the models overlap. It will also be an overview of the epistemological implications for learning and teaching.
