Tactics lie at the very heart of the game of tennis. For this reason, they should be front and center in the training of players at all skill levels. Tactics can be linked to virtually every other component of the game, be it technical, mental or physical in nature. Technique in particular, should rarely (if ever) be taught independently of tactical purpose. Tactics must always drive technique, and a player's technique must always be adapted to meet the tactical objective. |
