Rezumat

The results presented refer to the role and share of women in the business world, the great impact on the economy. The purpose of the research is to analyze and synthesize the influence of women entrepreneurs across the globe. To achieve the proposed goal have been advanced the following objectives:  To define from the multilateral perspective the notion of “entrepreneurship”.  To investigate the evolution of the percentage of women in business.  To analyze the women’s specific problems faced in their activity. The research has been carried out within the faculty. The following methods were used: content analysis and synthesis. On the basis of the results, it was found that the number of women in business all over the world grew considerably. This increase shows the undoubted impact of women entrepreneurs on economy and highlights their contributions to the growth and well-being of the society by generating gainful employment, providing new goods and services, creating wealth and consequently developing the economy. Nevertheless, when running a firm, women face not only general problems as their male competitors but also some specific ones such as: prejudices, role conflict, work- life balance, discrimination, etc. These difficulties may considerably decrease the number of businesswomen, whereupon the development of the economy will slow down. However, it is demonstrated that women make better bosses than men by leading in a more democratic way and by allowing staff participation in decision- making. Having women in leadership roles increases the communication between management and employees which leads to more efficient organisational structures. Moreover, women are the ones who are expected to handle various responsabilities from the childhood which makes them a good multi-tasker. For example, MaryBeth Hyland- the startup founder of SpakVision built her business using hard-won survival skills. Her difficult childhood enabled her to understand human dynamics and how to cater to different interests and personalities. Due to this unique skill-set she managed to build a business based on human connection and empowerment. It can be seen that allowing and supporting women to start their own business is of eminent importance for the development of a community or nation. This is why women should involve more and more in business.
