The new economy requires rapid development, which imposes a fast pace and in order to be able to resist in such an environment, both companies and people, guided by the desire for more, are involved in a continuous rush to earn more money. In addition to the immediate benefits, this almost robotic life is accompanied by a number of disadvantages both at the level of society and, especially at the level of the individual: pollution, increasing the number of diseases due to stress and/or fatigue, products food and non-food harmful to health, alienation from loved ones etc. Therefore, this study warns that performance may be accompanied by welfare, but also by some unwanted elements. The purpose of this article is to reflect the negative effects of the pursuit of money and to warn that this can have a major negative impact on the individual, but not only. The research method is non-participatory observation, and data from statistical bodies, media and literature were used as sources of information. The research results aim to capture the negative effects generated by the continuous struggle for performance and/or welfare, and future research directions are aimed at finding alternatives that ensure a balance between performance and welfare, without having significant repercussions on environment. |
