During the second half of the XVth century in Moldova the monumental sculptured plasticity kept the repertory of gothic forms which penetrated in Moldova through Transilvania. These gothic forms are occidental elements which were kept until the XVIIth century. The occidental elements, during the second half of the XVth century in Moldova, are present in the grave stones. The first grave stones have an inscription. This inscription is placed outline. In the centre of the grave stone is placed the cross (the grave stone of Florea from Voroneţ, 1505). Same grave stones have the inscription outline, but in the centre a placed a ornamental plain with the flower motives (the grave stone of Mary of Mangop from Putna, 1477; grave stone of Shtephan the Great from Putna, 1504). These decorative elements belong to the gothic style. The gothic elements come from Occident. The occidental influences also are present in the decoration of the churches. The sculptural decoration of these churches is made by masters who were educated in the Occident. The occidental elements are represented through the decoration of the window and door border (the churches St. Ilie from Suceava and Voroneţ) and the gates in the broken archer (the churches from Arbore, Reuseni).
