In this article are presented the contemporary visions and practical arguments related to the identification of a personality, based on the external characteristics of a human being. The matter of visual psychodiagnosis effectiveness was researched from an empiric and experimental point of view by several world known psychologists, such as: Paul Ekman, Mark L. Knapp, H.C. Triandis, W. Lambert, Wallace V. Friesen, А.А. Bodalev, V.N. Panferov, their disciples (E.F. Bajin, Ia. Valisiner, A.G. Guseva, A.M. Zimicev, А.S. Zolotniakova, А.P. Koniaeva, V.N. Kuniţina, H. Mikchin, Т.А. Repina, Е.V. Roshina, N.А. Rusina, А.А. Stepanov, C.D. Schafranskaia, P.М. Yacobson etc.) and many others. The data obtained shows that every person has his individual psychological portrait, consisting of several features: inherited, acquired or developed; internal, expressed by the anthropological determinants (the shape of the head, body, hands, feet, etc.) and physiognomic peculiarities (shape of the eyes, the lips, the mandible, ears, etc.) reflected in the clothing, footwear, behavior, gestures; demonstrative or camouflaged, but at the same time exposed to light. This fact was confirmed. In essence, MAN, looked through visual psycho diagnosis is actually a „portable support of information” that can be deciphered. The result of this deciphering only depends on the correct application of a validated and standardized methodology.
