Economic efficiency of commercial activity of trade enterprise and the degree of the goods buyers' demand satisfaction are predetermined by diversity and the structure of trade assortment of goods, which must be optimal. Optimality of trade assortment of goods is its complex property, which combines several of its properties, the nomenclature of which is still being elaborated. It is important that the properties of the range of goods to be separately nominated and defined, distinctly symbolized and uniformly used in commercial practice. The purpose of the investigation is to highlight, distinguish nomination and define, elaboration of quantitative indices and ways of estimating the properties of the commercial assortment of consumer goods.
