Park and Burgess first studied integration through the concept of assimilation. This concept was defined as “a process of interpenetration and fusion in which persons and groups acquire the memories, sentiments, and attitude of other persons and groups and, by sharing their experience and history, are incorporated with them in a common cultural life."After decades of research , the key factors for success and the reasons why some teenagers often fail in their attempt to get sociocultural integrated, are poorly understood. In this article, we have sought to take stock of and synthesize the findings from research on sociocultural integration, to emphasise the major importance of cultural communication in the process of sociocultural integration of teenagers and to identify the unsolved questions as well, so that we could find the best answers for them.
