Rezumat

The results of experimental research of the influence of pulse electric field parameters on the physicochemical properties and structure of highly stable emulsions are presented. It is found that the optimum values of the electric field peak intensity, the current, and the pulse duration at which the maximum effect is achieved depend on the physicochemical characteristics of the disperse medium and the salinity of the disperse phase. It is revealed that the aggregative stability of the emulsion decreases and the separation rate increases in the process of exposure. The disperse phase varies most substantially at the beginning of the exposure. It is found that electric discharge (ED) exposure causes structural changes of highly stable emulsions, which is shown in the destruction of asphaltenes, resins, and paraffins that constitute the disperse medium.
