On the territory of the National Pechersk Historical and Cultural Preserve there are 144 architectural monuments of the XI-XIX centuries, of which six according to written sources were built in the XI-XII centuries. During the XX-XXI centuries, all of them were objects of architectural and archeological research. At present, there is no generalized work on monumental structures of the monastery and of the adjacent territories of the Kievan Rus era. Dormition Cathedral (1073-1078) was investigated by: V. Bogusevich 1946- 1948, S. Kilievich 1961, M. Kholostenko 1962-1963 & 1968-1972, V. Kharlamov 1982, 1986, V. Chaika 1983, O. Syromyatnikov 1995, G. Ivakin 1997- 1999. Adjacent to it, John the Baptist Church (last quarter of the XI century) was studied by M. Kholostenko 1972, G. Ivakin 1998. The front door of the monastery, together with the Trinity Gate Church (1106- 1108), was the object of research by V. Bogusevich 1951, V. Chaika 1983, and S. Balakin 2001, 2007, 2013. The Refectory building (1108-1110) constructed during the same period was analyzed by V. Kharlamov 1984-1985 & 1991, O. Syromyatnikov 1990, S. Balakin 2009. The Monastery wall (second half of XII century) excavated by 2009 was researched by V. Bogusevich 1951, V. Kharlamov 1991-1992, S. Balakin 2007, S. Taranenko 2018. The Church of the Savior at Berestove (1113-1125), located near the monastery, was studied by: P. Pokryshkin 1914, I. Samoilovsky 1938, 1947, V. Kharlamov 1989-1990, O. Syromyatnikov 1991, S. Balakin 2002, G. Ivakin 2003, S. Taranenko, V. Ivakin 2018 - 2019. The analysis of the results of the archaeological investigations of the previous years and the emergence of the newest methods of studying and dating of the building material allow in some cases to correlate the date of construction and to distinguish the structural features of the structures and their probable repairs.
