| Rezumat | ||||||
The establishment and consolidation of the communist totalitarian regime had serious consequences for the European states. The expansion of the Soviet Union’s domination to the west hit directly within the borders of Romania. By making the additional Soviet-Nazi secret protocol in 1939, the USSR has annexed Bessarabia, Northern Bukovina and Herta. The formation of Moldovan RSS was accompanied by aggressive actions of the new power towards the native population. The terror has become a priority tool to ensure the people’s obedience. In the first line of those which was considered as “enemies” of the power were also members of the Country Councils. The purpose of this research is to identify and highlight the Stalinist repression in the case of the Deputies of the Country Councils on the basis of archival documents and testimonies. |
