Rezumat

Four new copper coordination compounds with 2-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4,6-ditertpentylphenol] ligand, namely [CuL2], [CuL2DMF], [CuL2DMA] and [CuL2DMSO] have been previously synthetized, characterised and employed as catalysts in veratryl alcohol oxidation process. [1] In order to study the possibility of enhancing the catalytic activity by changing the reaction temperature and to study the thermal behaviour of all four complexes, thermoanalytical investigations were performed. Figure 1: Thermoanalytic curves for the [CuL2] compound, measured at air in the 20 – 1000 °C temperature range at a 10 °C/min speed. Thermal analysis data show that all 4 analysed compounds are stable up to 120 °C. The first step of decomposition is the elimination of the coordinating solvent molecules through an endothermic process at 120-200 °C. Further is observed the decomposition of the complex followed by full elimination of two moieties of ligand with the formation of copper oxide after 550 °C.
