В статье проанализированы политические и правовые взгляды Ч. Беккариа. Исследовано проявление гуманизма в идеях Ч. Беккариа. Установлено, что ключом для понимания взглядов Ч. Беккариа является концепция общественного договора. Проведен анализ трактата Ч. Беккариа «О преступлениях и наказаниях». Охарактеризованы идеи о соответствии наказания преступлению, равенство всех перед законом, отношение ученого к смертной казни, пыткам.

The article analyzes the political and legal views of C. Beccaria. Manifestations of humanism in the ideas of C. Beckaria were studied. It is established that the key to understanding the views of С. Beccaria is the concept of social contract. The analysis of Becary’s treatise «On crimes and punishment» was conducted. The idea of the punishment of crime, equality of all before the law, the attitude of the scientist to the death penalty, and torture is described.
