The future of Biomedical Engineering (BME) profession has been shown to be in high demand and countries, which do not invest in BME education will be unable to use efficiently the forthcoming healthcare technologies. The TEMPUS IV BME-ENA: “Biomedical Engineering Education Initiative in Eastern Neighbouring Area” project aims to promote BME Education in four partner countries, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, through the creation of four joint postgraduate programs in line with the European policy and the most recent developments. Effective coordination and management has been performed in order to provide smooth project implementation. Management structures have been established since the very project beginning and regular meetings have taken place in order to ensure successful project progress. The quality assurance has been regarded an important issue for every task performed within the project. The joint BME programs curricula have been developed taking into account the needs, the existing know-how, and the available expertise in the participating institutions. The newly created joint MSc BME programs are expected to play an important role in strengthening the BME education in Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, and extending the bilateral collaboration with EU universities in the BME field.
