Rezumat

Antibiotics, antimicrobics, analgesics, allergy, caffeine etc. are some of the chemical constituets that make up the pharmaceuticals. These compounds can easily access to ecosystem after human activities. So far, according to literature the effects of chemicals on living organisms and ecosystems studies are not enough. These chemicals cause a serious treat especially for the aquatic flora, fauna and plants that benefit from water resources, and animals. PPCPs (Pharmaceuticals and personal care products) are quite effective on water resources, and the presence of them in the environment has become an important environment and human health problem. PPCPs can accumulated in the soil if agricultural land irrigates with wastewater drugs. These pollutants accumlate in the soil and can be dissolved in water and taken by plants though the time. In our study Triticum aestivum L. was used as model organism. The effects of the drug substances like Gemfibrozil and β-estradiol in different concentrations were investigated to determine the elements intake in wheat stem. For this, different concentrations (control, 15 mg, 50 mg, and 200 mg) of β-estradiol and Gemfibrozil were added in wheat grown soil. Wheat were harvested after 15 days. The collected samples were then pretreated in a laboratory and ICP-OES elemental analysis was performed by evaluating of the data obtained, the sowing differences between the experimental area was investigated. Herein this study, the medicine of pharmaceutical ingredients mixed into the soil were determined to be effective in the development of wheat and in the mineral element intake. Depending on the concentration, the mineral element uptake of wheat was observed to decrease. With this study, due to contamination of agricultural land with medical drugs, the product loss can be found. As a result, to minimize and mitigate the effects of pollutants on the environment, the legal regulations regarding to drug use and discharge needed to be made.
