The subject of this article is the fragmentary silver plate of a sabretache, which was deposited in the storage of the Gorgippia Archaeological Museum (Krasnodar Krai, Russia) in 2015, together with several other finds. The finds had been discovered at a site named Andreevskaia Shchel, located a few kilometres south-east of the town, at the north-western hill area of the Caucasus. Among the artefacts deposited in the storage in 2015, there were other finds related to the 9-10th centuries (e.g. gilded silver sheet braid ornament decorated with palmette motifs, gilded bronze belt mounts, bronze strap end, sabre, bow case or sabretache mount, fingerring, etc.). As a first step of publishing the finds, in addition to the description and analysis of this unique fragmentary silver sabretache plate, members of the research team conduct a more detailed study of the spread of sabretache plates in Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and in the Carpathian Basin. As the solutions and decoration techniques used resemble those of ornamented sabretaches, many questions may arise regarding the sabretache plate discovered in Andreevskaia Shchel. However, the fact that this was the first time that a sabretache plate was unearthed at the hill/steppe area of the Northern Caucasus, even if it is fragmentary because of the research context, repeatedly draws our attention to this area. The Caucasus and its hill and steppe area was the scene of cultural and economic relations between the nomadic populations of the steppe and of the mountains, presenting a favorable opportunity for the eventual creation of significant power/political configurations.

În cursul expediției de documentare arheologică efectuată în Federația Rusă, în muzeul Gorgippia din Anapa, am avut prilejul de a studia materialul arheologic aferent unui sit funerar ajuns în colecţiile muzeului în anul 2015 şi rămas inedit până în momentul de față. Locul de descoperire al locului funerar, la 6 km est de Su-Pseh, reprezintă marginea orientală a orașului Anapa. Realizată dintr-o placă subțire de argint, forma sa semicirculară, mijlocul ajurat, respectiv ornamentele mici în formă de petale triunghiulare, care decorau marginile piesei, indică în mod evident funcționalitatea plăcuței. În partea centrală, plăcuța fusese ajurată rectangular, rotunjită, iar aversul său ornamentat cu o aplică rectangulară turnată din cupru galben. Apariția piesei de la Andreevskaia Shchel în zona piemontană a Caucazului de nord, alături de alte artefacte specifice portului lumii nomade, ne atrage atenția asupra importanței macroregiunii, o zonă de contact între stepă și spațiul montan, practic, zona de comunicare între nomazi și sedentari.

Во время документированной археологической экспедиции, проведенной в Российской Федерации, в музее Горгиппия в Анапе, мы получили возможность изучить археологический материал погребального памятника, по- ступивший в коллекцию музея в 2015 и оставшийся неопубликованным до настоящего момента. Местность обна- ружения погребального места, в 6 км к востоку от Су-Сех, представляет собой восточную окраину города Анапа. Предмет изготовлен из тонкой серебряной пластинки полукруглой формы, с перфорированной серединой, с небольшим орнаментом в форме треугольных лепестков, украшающие края предмета, четко указывая на функци- ональность пластинки. В центре, пластинка была прямоугольно перфорирована, закруглена, а ее аверс орнамен- тирован литьем в форме прямоугольника из желтой меди.Появление данного предмета из Андреевской Щели в предгорной зоне северного Кавказа, наряду с другими специфическими артефактами кочевнического мира, при- тягивает наше внимание в связи с важностью данного микро региона, контактной зоны между степью и горной местностью, практически, зоной культурных и экономических связей между кочевниками и оседлым населением.
