The study reveals the stages of the Bessarabian national movement in the period 1812-1905, the role of the Russian revolution in triggering of the national movements within the Russian Empire, including in Bessarabia, the return of the Bessarabian problem to the attention of the public opinion in Romania, the publication on July 9, 1905 of the first known programmatic document of the national movement of the Bessarabian Romanians, the publication of the Romanian newspaper “Bessarabia” in Latin script, and the intention to create a Romanian National Party in Bessarabia, emphasizing of the role of the Bessarabian Romanian organizations in Romania – “The Bessarabian”, “The Cultural League of the Basarabian Romanians”, “The Society for the Help of the Romanians in Bessarabia”, “Milcov” – in the triggering of the national movement in Bessarabia at the beginning of the 20th century.
