The discrimination can occur in all areas of social life. It can exist in labor relationships, regarding the employment conditions, criteria and recruitment conditions, selection and promotion, access to all forms and levels of guidance, formal and professional development. Also, it is present in the access to public services or other services, the access to goods and facilities. The principle of non-discrimination is an important pillar of community social policy, and the equality of opportunities is the necessary framework for social policy at state and European level. The existence of norms that stipulate efficient guarantees against discrimination and discriminatory practices is absolutely necessary in a democratic society. Combating discrimination is indispensable to the promoting process of the absolute equality for all people. |
